Summer may be winding down, but there are plenty more events to fill up your social calendar. Every smart PR girl knows that networking is très important in our industry, so keep the chic in Chicago and head out to this season’s hottest events.
Pocket book feeling a little light lately? This website will save your (social) life. FanFound offers its members exclusive discounts and access to diverse entertainment experiences. That means Chicago socialites can head out to see their favorite live music, sporting events, comedy, symphony, theater, and much more with their free FanFound membership. Even though the Windy City is the first to experience this awesome discount ticket service, FanFound is quickly expanding and plans to be available in most major cities in the United States by the end of 2011.
I was so excited to sit down with FanFound CEO & founder, Chris Bauman for an exclusive interview. Check it out below!
Q: Tell us a little about your self and FanFound…
A: Broad but great question! Myself: Simple and straightforward… I enjoy my wife, my son, my many friendships, getting to know extraordinary people and building great things from raw ideas. FanFound is one of those great ideas which is on it’s way to changing event promotion and entertainment permanently. We’re building a great company made of great people. We’ve gotten off to a fantastic start in Chicago and we’re grateful for our many customers, clients, and partners in Chicago and nationally who have contributed to this success.
Q: Congrats on Fanfound’s launch in the national market! Which cities are going to be able to get in on your great deals?
A: Thanks Caitlin. For starters we’re planning on launching in New York, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Nashville, New Orleans, and Dallas. We’re then planning on being in most major West Coast and East Coast cities by the end of 2011. As we expand, we are partnering with even more content providers who will be featuring everything from Billboard chart topping musicians to Japanese Professional Wrestling. Everyone at FanFound appreciates having a diversity of entertainment in our own lives and we want to offer this same diversity to our members.
Q: What inspires you about your business and which part do you have the most fun with?
A: Entertainment, all types from music to theater to comedy. I believe it awakens the very best in people. It inspires us to dream, dance, cry, smile, remember moments long past and quite possibly love better. That’s the most fun about this business, I get to discover, experience, and then share these awesome entertainment experiences with thousands of others.
Q: Do you have any advice for young entrepreneurs?
A: Fail Forward.
Q: What is the best customer feedback you have received so far?
A: We featured free tickets to go see celebrity chef Guy Fieri at Horseshoe Casino, and a gentleman took advantage of the promotion and surprised his wife, who was a huge fan, with a night out that included a 5 course steak dinner he picked for an unbelievable price in the FanFound up-sell tree. His wife had a wonderful time with him at the event. They ate, drank, saw a great show, and even won some money in the casino. Hearing this customer recant this experience with his wife and then realizing that we quite possibly helped create one of the more memorable nights of their lives together, is why FanFound exists.
Q: Final words to the reader; what can we expect from you guys in the future?
A: It’s my hope that FanFound acts as a vehicle for even greater things. We are currently working with two charities, Saving tiny Hearts and Headcount, to help raise awareness to their valiant causes. Entertainment not only enhances each of our lives, but also can serve as a powerful tool in mobilizing people towards “greater goods”. We hope that with the promotional power FanFound is capable of, we have an opportunity to create unprecedented mobilization of others to discover, become active in, and engage truly life enhancing causes. I hope you’ll join us on FanFound.
